Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD) and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) occur as a result of neurological dysfunction in the prefrontal cortex of the brain. This lack of functioning in the brain causes distraction, short attention span, poor time management, procrastination, poor judgment, trouble learning, anxiety, and short-term memory loss, among other problems.
