While change can be a frightening at times, it is also necessary to move forward in life. Doreen works with clients based on the belief that there is nothing “wrong” with them. There are only barriers in the way of seeing your own greatness. Her job is to walk with you to identify those barriers and then remove them. She believes a strong client/counselor relationship is the foundation for healing. This journey is a collaborative effort. With her compassionate, easygoing nature each individual gets to recognize their goals and achieve them.

Doreen graduated from The College of New Jersey with a Master’s degree in counseling. She has a vast amount of experience working with individuals on an individual basis and in a group setting. She has worked with individuals struggling with various mental illnesses such as anxiety and depression and bipolar disorder. She has extensive experience working with adolescents and adults struggling with substance abuse. Doreen has worked in both the clinical inpatient setting and the outpatient setting, specifically with adolescents and their families. She uses a strength-based approach as well as maintaining a client-centered approach to help teens and adults navigate life. In addition to working with Portrait Health Centers, Doreen works as a student assistance counselor at a high school in New Jersey. Doreen has over 28 years of clinical experience.
