My primary goal in my work as a psychologist is to help clients successfully deal with the issues that cause them to seek treatment. Depending upon the issues presented and the goals of the client, either a short-term or a long-term approach to treatment can be taken. I believe it is very important that I come across to clients as caring and attentive so that rapport can be established, which in turn will hopefully lead to a sense of emotional safety and a willingness to trust me enough to share honestly about problem issues.
